CookiePolicy
We keep the crumbs to a minimum. Here is exactly what we place on your device, why, and how long it lingers before it fades like fog off a lantern.
What is a cookie, and why should you care?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your browser or device when you visit. It sits quietly in the background and lets the site remember small things about your visit — things like whether you have already confirmed your age at the gate, or which theme preference you selected last time you settled into the parlour. Cookies are not programs. They cannot execute code, carry viruses, or read files from your computer. They are, in the bluntest terms, a notepad left on the doorstep.
At ArcadeMorvix, we use cookies because running even a small social card lounge without them would mean asking you the same questions every single time you walk through the door. The age gate, the session continuity, the chip count that survives a page refresh — all of these depend on something that remembers you were just here.
The cookies we actually set
Age-gate confirmation. When you click "Yes, I'm 18+" on the entry screen, we store a small session flag so the gate does not reappear on every page you visit within the same browser session. This cookie holds no personal data. It contains a single boolean value and nothing else. It expires when you close the browser tab or session.
Session continuity. While you are at the table, a session identifier keeps your chip count and current hand state intact across page navigations. Without it, every click back to the lobby would reset your stack to zero. This cookie lives only for the duration of your browser session and disappears when you leave.
Preference storage. If the lounge detects your preferred card back or display settings, that choice is stored locally so your next visit feels familiar. This cookie has a shelf life of 90 days from the date it is written. You can clear it at any time through your browser's cookie management interface.
What we do not use cookies for
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not share cookie data with third-party marketing networks. We do not build behavioural profiles. We do not use fingerprinting or cross-site tracking of any kind. Because ArcadeMorvix runs entirely on points with no monetary exchange, there is simply no commercial incentive to surveil your browsing habits. The candles here burn for atmosphere, not for data.
Third-party cookies
ArcadeMorvix does not embed third-party advertising scripts, social media widgets that track across sites, or analytics platforms that report back to external companies. If this changes, we will update this page before making the change, not after.
Managing and deleting cookies
Every major browser gives you full control over cookies. You can view, block, or delete individual cookies through your browser settings. Clearing the cookies ArcadeMorvix sets will log you out of any active session and reset the age gate. That is the only consequence. No data is lost because no personal data was stored in the first place. Refer to your browser's own help documentation for step-by-step instructions, as the exact location of these controls varies by browser and version.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies we use change — if we add a new one, remove an existing one, or alter the lifespan of any — this page will reflect that before the change takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page is the single source of truth for how current these details are.
